Navigating Long-Term Senior Care

Please join us on August 12th at 12pm as we welcome Kelley Sheridan of American Senior Communities as our Speaker.

We all live our lives to the fullest and to the best of our abilities.  As we age, we start to see the changes in our lives such as retirement, loss of a spouse, illness and more.  With all the home and health services available, it can be overwhelming.  How do we plan  for the multitude of lifestyle choices that we need to start planning for now?  Come hear Kelley speak on "Navigating Long-Term Senior Care" to learn how we can make those important decisions.

Kelley is the Admission and Marketing Director for ASC. She is a member of the Chamber of Commerce of Avon, IAHHC, Boone, Morgan and Hendricks County Council on Aging along with with being a wife, mother and grandmother.

From the President...

The Call to Serve!

The past few years I have been blessed working alongside great women of AWBO. My life is richer, filled with lasting friendship and so much inspiration from wonderful Women Owned Businesses who embrace life and business.  As the end of our fiscal year approaches, the AWBO Board is planning another great year of programs to enrich you in business.

AWBO is filled with leadership and camaraderie - thank you for your friendship, working as a team and being involved. If you have talents to share, the Hospitality and Programs Committee would love to have your involvement. Want more information?  Call me, Tammy Foley at 765-479-1216 or President Elect, Jan French. We look forward to hearing from you!

-------------------------------------------
Hi AWBO members and non-members!

I am on the hospitality committee and I take AWBO and my office very serious.  Let me tell you what makes it important.  Meeting with members monthly builds friendships.  I meet new women who have used  their imaginations to bring income to their households.  Many of them have helped me in various ways.

Another wonderful thing about AWBO, are the speakers. One of them was Tenecia Waddell.  She was this years YWCA Woman of Innovation Honoree.  She is a police officer on the Purdue Police Department.  Although her talk was entitled "Safety in the work place", I learned some very helpful things about keeping safe while shopping, as well as in the parking lot.  "Whenever being confronted by an attacker, always look them in the face. Don't let them feel you fear."  Same goes for the work place...how to handle unwanted advances/harassment.

It is wonderful to see so many ladies visiting our luncheon meeting and becoming members, "Welcome to each of you!  See you soon?"
