Sana Booker, West Lafayette City Clerk

Changing the Rules of Engagement
A conversation defining the power of your voice in setting clear boundaries and how to prevent burnout or turning it around from within. We will do what women do best, and that is to stand on truth as it relates to who we are and what we do for those around us. We will discuss how and when to say no with confidence and thoughtfulness and how to protect yourself from the feeling of guilt when lines must be drawn.
The plan for the day is to change the narrative as we navigate through what we have always done to what we need to do to self-heal, be accountable and to find your personal peace.
About Sana
Sana Booker has spent her career navigating the exact tensions at the heart of boundaries and burnout: public accountability, competing demands, and the emotional labor of service. As City Clerk of West Lafayette, IN since 2016 (through January 2028) and President of the Board of Public Works and Safety, she operates in a role with zero room for dropped balls, while also supervising staff and showing up for the community at every turn.
Since 2012, she's run S.G. Booker Consulting, LLC, coaching small businesses through employee relations, workplace compliance, conflict resolution, and mediation, giving her firsthand insight into how boundaries (or their absence) shape workplace culture. Add 20+ years in nonprofit leadership, including as Assistant Manager and General Manager at Purdue Residence Halls, plus active board service with organizations like the Area IV Agency on Aging, Tippecanoe Senior Services, and Mental Health America of the Wabash Valley Region, and you get a leader who has lived the demands of service, leadership, and caregiving all at once.
Sana doesn't just talk about boundaries and burnout. She's built a career and life managing both, making her uniquely positioned to help others rewrite the rules of engagement in their own lives.
