From another room Deb Wappel overheard her dad desperately asking the family doctor, “How could you have missed all that cancer in my wife!” The doctor replied, “Jack, she was a picture of health!” A few years later, Deb was experiencing a health crisis of her own and not receiving the attention she so desperately needed because, like her mother before her, she was the picture of health…she “looked like a runner…”
The truth is... “Our Looks Can Be Deceiving”! This is especially true for professional women and women business owners who push every day, striving to be all we can be while simultaneously presenting our best. And that is exactly what can cause us and our health professionals to ignore both the obvious and not-so-obvious warning signs of a health crisis ahead!
Deb will share with us her experiences with dangerous heart blockages, expose the subtle and not so subtle signs of possible heart danger ahead, and help us as women business owners or career professionals to understand the importance of advance preparation for an unexpected health event of you or a family member that could take you away from your business from days to months to years. What plans have you made for the continuous running of your business, and of your family? Do you have a succession plan in the event of your death? This all sounds like a serious topic, and it is, but Deb presents in a fun, lighthearted way because she has first-hand experience with it… and she values the lessons learned that she can share with others. Deb understands the importance of a healthy mind, body, and spirit…and advance planning to provide peace of mind for ourselves, and those who rely on us.
About Deb:
Deb Shannon Wappel is an internationally certified coach, teacher, and speaker with the John Maxwell team. She is a former teacher, principal, and nonprofit executive director. She is a graduate of Purdue University with a BS, MS and certificate of administration and supervision. Debbie’s husband Larry of 40 years and their two sons own a large grain and peppermint farming operation in Northwest Indiana. Debbie enjoys spending time with her seven wonderful granddaughters!
